My Baby Sister Got Married

My baby sitter, Stephanie got married (can't believe she is old enough to get married)!! It was an awesome, crazy, fun day.  I really enjoyed helping out with the decorations (you know me, love a good party!) I am so happy for Stephanie and Adam and hope they have years of happiness together!!  I think the reception was a hit, what do you think?

Model

A year ago I got a nice Camera and still to this day I haven't taken a ton of time figuring out settings and how to really use it.  I justified buying it because i would be able to take my own kids pictures instead of paying someone to do it.  So i tried to convince Reese to be my pupil while i practiced settings on my camera.  1st picture i got a smile and then the rest of the time she was not interested as you can see.

1st picture she smiled, fake smile but she smiled, and yes that is red hair, i have no idea where she came from:)

Then she found something

Then she got tired of me calling her name

Then she was done with the chair, it may look like she is laughing but i think she was getting ready to scream at me:)
STINKER!!

New Toys

Cassidy has had the itch for a while now to buy some kind of toy, we have looked at boats, toy haulers, you name it.  Finally I said why don't you look on craigslist for some quads for the boys.  I must have been inspired because that day Cass found 2 quads exactly the same for the boys to ride. YEAH!!!
The deal even came with 4 helmets, 2 pair of riding gloves (yes one set is pink so the boys each have a green and pink glove), and one pair of riding pants, that the boys take turns wearing.  SWEET!!
The 1st chance we could get we loaded up the quads (yes we have to get a bigger trailer now) and headed to payson to test out the new rides.
The boys had a blast!!  We loaded up some camping chairs that me and Omie sat in and watched  the boys drive around for hours.  Cassidy would take turns giving the girls rides (which they loved just as much as the boys,  i think we will have to get some pink quads next!!).  It was an awesome family adventure, now i just need my Polaris Razor and we can go on family rides!!

Brody is 6!!

I can't believe my 1st born turned 6 today.  Where does the time go?  I have to say he is turning into a handsome young man.   Brody's school  lets the kids bring in Birthday posters with pictures of themselves at different ages.  So here are the post cards i made and then Brody glued them on a poster board and decorated it (i forgot to take a picture of the finished product so you will have to use your imagination)

I think they turned out cute, and Brody liked them.  We did get a few glares from the teacher because we did more silly things so a lot of the kids got the giggles, which Brody loved (i think he might be a joker just like his Grandpa Hunt).  After school we had a few friends and family over for cake and ice cream(once again didn't take pictures).  If you know Brody you know that he has themes to his birthdays, so this year was Army, so he got lots and lots of army toys and a Army cake.  It was a great day and i am so grateful i have had 6 years of being this little boys mom and hope there are many more to come!!

Brody's 1st Day of School

My Brody started kindergarten today.  As a mother of 4 little ones and Brody being the oldest (6 next week) i have been looking forward to this day all year long.  Last year at this time i couldn't bring myself to enroll Brody in Kindergarten , i just didn't want him to be the youngest in his class.   It wasn't till last January that i started regretting that decision.  I knew it was the right decision but it was going to be a hard 6 months, and it was!!  He was bored and it showed in his actions, and unfortunately this was an extremely crazy time in our lives.  Not only did i have 3 other little ones that i had to give my time to, we had made the decision to work really hard at finishing all the projects on our house so we could find renters when needed (this took up a lot of my time).  But we did our best and survived to, today.  I  didn't think the thought of Brody going to school would slow me down one bit, but all of last week i have had a little ache in my heart at the thought that Brody would be gone during the days.  I reflected a lot last week, hoping i taught him enough to succeed in school, to choose the right, to make friends....the list goes on.  I look at this cute little face and know that i am not a perfect mother, but that this little boy is awesome and he is going to go above and beyond my expectations!!  I love him so much, and am excited for him to take the next step in life.  He was so excited yesterday for today.  We layed out his new clothes, talked about what we were going to pack in his lunch, and then we put him to  bed and he said his prayers and it was so sweet.  He prayed that he wouldn't be shy and that the older kids wouldn't pick on him.  Needless to say we were ready for school a half hour before we had to leave this morning:)  We drove to school, showed him again where his classroom was, signed him in and then he said with a big smile on his face "Bye mom" and then ran down to play on the playground.  I didn't shed tears, but smiled and waved and thought he is ready for this and we are going to have a fun school year!!

The Start to Craziness

What do you write on your 1st post on your new blog?? I guess our family history, but for most of you reading this you know our family history.  Oh well, you can skip or read on.  Cassidy and I meet in High School, we had a love, hate relationship.  Sometimes we liked each other, got along, were friends, maybe even went on a date, and then the other times, we "hated" (not really) each other, ignored each other, no eye contact, called the other a "bag of Doritos" (don't ask), tied the other (me) up in or tree or duct taped to the door (again don't ask)!!  Anyways, Cassidy served a 2 year mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Chicago, while i finished High School at West Wood, and kissed a lot of boys (he hates that part, but it was fun:) ).  As the time neared that Cassidy would return from his mission (yes we did write letters back and forth during this time), we were both determined we were not going to date each other, which was a great plan, NOT!!  Almost one year later on Aug 2nd we were married in the Snowflake Temple.  We spent the next 3 years finishing school, oh wait that was me.  I finished Nursing School, got my degree from MCC, while Cassidy went through his check list of careers he thought he would enjoy.  Pilot (gets sick on airplanes), Harley Davidson Mechanic (6 weeks of school and realized they make nothing and its more a hobby), and the list goes on of things he ventured into.  3 months after graduating nursing school we had our 1st baby boy, Brody, then 17 months later, baby boy , Cade, then 17 months later baby girl, Kalle, then 16 months later, baby girl, Reese.  Yes, 4 kids in 4 years!!  During this time Cassidy finished his apprenticeship with APS and is now a Journeymen Lineman,  we bought a foreclosure and totally remodeled it (wow that was a lot of work!!).  So during this time of career change, 4 kids and remodeling a house we both feel like we have become crazy people, but we love our family and through all the crazy times we are still madly in love.  I am hoping this blog will capture the now moment of our life so we can look back and remember the little details i am sure someday we will miss.  As a mother of 4 little ones i also hope that it helps me enjoy and reflect more on our daily lives instead of getting caught up in the daily routine and what item needs to be checked off my to do list.  I guess the key word for this blog (besides crazy) is reflection, this blog is for me to reflect on my life week to week, something i have missed lately.  Here goes to reflection, on a crazy life, we will see how it goes:)
